For your weekend drinking considerations, we submit, Jetsetter, a Caribbean coated Negroni from Nopa’s Yanni Kehagiaras. While many spirits have enjoyed a renaissance (and subsequent increasing pricing) among micro-distillers, bartenders and drinkers, rum continues to lag behind. That’s okay, though. As mezcal, gin and others move to the mainstream, some of the best value represented in the world today for fine spirits reside in the r(h)um category. This 8 year-old from Barbancourt is a great example. Who would’ve guessed that chasing the Negroni would’ve brought us to Haiti? Not that we’re not complaining.
