The above trailer is from a documentary entitled, “Wine From Here”. It is a profile of the Natural Wine movement in California. In the beginning of the trailer, our friend Hardy Wallace, astutely points out natural wine is a “natural” extension of the local food movement that was also grown from here.

If you follow wine even passively-especially if you are in California- at some point, there’s a good chance that you’ve encountered someone talking about wine in this way. It’s definitely been talked here http://nopasf.com/blog/natural_wine_week_2010/ . In all, I think our sentiments are just as they were when Chris wrote about them in 2010. Natural wine is an important sector of California’s industry both practically and intellectually. And indeed many of the wines on our list (made by many of the folks in this film) are produced by winemakers who follow these tenents. But our ultimate contribution, for both the movement and our guest is to curate our list in such a way that we are showing the best versions of these wines that we can.

And on the subject of curating, the folks who were interviewed for the film were well chosen. If you want to begin your own journey by tasting from these producers, follow this link: http://WineFromHere.com/interviews
