If you’ve ever had dinner here, you know one of the things that we do is a welcoming “taste”. It is a taste of something of the season—often times a lightly (or un) dressed fruit or vegetable. Its how we introduce our farms and set an expectation for the flavors or ingredients that may appear in other iterations on the menu.

When I got to work today, Al was in one of his goofy moods. He belted out that he thought we should “Nopalize”, so I rolled camera on the first 60 seconds of my day. The Ruby grapefruits, our taste tonight,  are from one of our favorite farmers—Toby Hastings. Toby is impossible not to love; he’s a  young, attractive and jolly farmer who brings us really beautiful squash from his farm, Free Spirit. These grapefruits (NOT oro blanco) are from a nursery next door. Come taste one tonight.
