Sunday February 19, 2012 R&B Star and Music Exec Visit Nopa  Yesterday, the Sunday before Presidents Day, was full of energy. And people. Lots of people. Especially for brunch. But just before midnight, when it appeared we’d resume our typical mellow Sunday night service, a huge security guard waltzes in. He has some words with Deegan and proceeds to go upstairs to check out the seating arrangement for our 11:15 10-top. We’d already been alerted that there was an R&B star who’d be showing up, but the security detail seemed a little intense. A few minutes later, a white Escalade rolls up and lets out a quintessential hip-hop entourage. It was for Trey Songz. Some of us-but admittedly very few of us- knew Trey Songz.  But the real surprise was who came in with Trey. Thaaat’s what the security detail was all about. In McEnroe, Montana, and Pollan fashion (yea, not quite the same, but to us he is), we’ll give this proper air time in a post tomorrow, but (following a Sean Parker visit on Friday) it was quite a way to end the week.
