Riverdog Farm’s famous pork and poultry have chefs and shoppers lining up around the block before the market even opens, and their CSA is perhaps the most popular in the East Bay. Their reputation is no accident—Tim Mueller and Trini Campbell have spent over 30 years honing their sustainable practices, and slowly carving out one of the most impressive family-owned organic farms in Northern California. At 300 acres of farmland, Riverdog is a rare blend of scale and integrity—keeping their hogs, birds and perfect produce in San Francisco’s most venerated kitchens.
We’ll explore this pastoral paradise nestled between the dramatic Capay Valley. Mobile coops traverse a dense alfalfa pasture where heritage birds browse; happy hogs root and snuffle with piglets underfoot. Tim and Trini show us each stage of a pig’s life at Riverdog Farm as we wander the fields picking tomatoes, peppers and melons. Under a magnificent walnut tree, we’ll enjoy the coveted fried chicken sandwich from Plow Chef/Owner Maxine Siu. And yes, it will be those Riverdog free-range chickens.
